Baseball has been a part of the rich tradition of Olivet Nazarene University for more than 40 years. In recent history, the
Tigers have established themselves as one of the premier college baseball programs in the nation with two NAIA World
Series appearances (2002, 2003). ONU has had 19 players sign professional baseball contracts. The latest Tiger to
make the big leagues, Ben Zobrist, was named American League Player of the Week at the end of the 2008 season
and helped the Tampa Bay Rays to their first-ever post-season appearance.
Olivet is equipped with state-of-the-art training facilities to help our athletes achieve the highest level of performance.
The indoor facilities include two varsity weight rooms, a fitness center, two indoor tracks, McHie Arena and an indoor tuft
hitting facility with two batting cages, an indoor clay mound and long toss area. Watson Field is the home of Tigers
baseball, complete with major league dimensions, stadium seating and top-level playing surface.
Off the field, Olivet is also considered one of the nation's top Christian colleges, with more than 100 areas of study. In
2008, the Tiger baseball team led the nation with 7 Academic All-Americans.
With faith at the heart of everything we do — from superior academics and athletics to the social atmosphere and
ministry opportunities — our hope is that each player develops a personal relationship with Jesus Christ.
